Discovery is a creative exploration and building VR game. In it, you search a vast world for resources which you can use to build your own creations. In addition to building from resources like wood and minerals, you can farm animals and create more complex contraptions including electrical devices.
Exactly what it sounds like
In short, Discovery is a VR Minecraft clone. However, although it faithfully mimics the exploration, resource gathering and building experience found in Minecraft and similar games, it doesn't include any of the game's combat and survival elements. Similarly, the game lacks any kind of narrative or even win conditions. It's focused on being a creative sandbox. The movement system, which lets you fly around with a single button push, facilitates this. You can play either in single-player mode or with up to three friends.
More a playground than a game
How much you enjoy Discovery will basically depend on how much the idea of a VR Minecraft-like sandbox appeals to you. If the idea of a virtual construction set sounds like fun, this well-executed example will give you what you need. If you're looking for challenge or narrative, you won't find them here.
